Observing people. They're unpredictable, mostly intelligent (or so we like to hope), and utterly fascinating. Observing buildings and objects, which are made by people, becoming as unpredictable and strangely fascinating. Observing all the other things that could possible happen on a University campus.

Scholarship Awards Banquets

During Spring semester this year, I attended a departmental scholarship awards ceremony for Classics in Language and Literature. We met in a small conference room, had a one page program and after the ceremony, had pizza, drinks and cookies. (I might add the pizza was from the local eatery, very tasty)

A few weeks ago, I attended a departmental scholarship awards ceremony for Engineering. We met in the tower of the football stadium with a fantastic view of the city lights. The program was 25 pages. After a three course catered dinner with water and punch, there was a reading of all the scholarship recipients and tribute to the excellence of the program.

I wonder who has more funding.
